Common Ground - Des&do!
DES&DO! goal is to inspire more collaborations and help raise awareness of the Western Sweden region’s potential and resources in design, material diversity, and manufacturing capabilities.
Common Ground – is the result of a perceived lack of tools for visualizing, discussing, and collectively envisioning future spaces for children and play.
The game is designed to spark discussions, generate ideas, and highlight problems or potential when developing a new outdoor environment. It can also bring potential conflicts to light, reveal participants’ interests, and lead to better planning and design of spaces where children’s wishes and needs are taken into account every step of the way.

Designed for collaboration. Game rules and goals are not predefined, but left open to the player’s interpretation and needs.
During the game, participants are asked to think about different aspects of the built environment, play, weather, nature, senses, participation and accessibility, etc.
The discussions and conversations that follow can then be materialized and woven into the place that is slowly built up on the playing field and which hopefully ends up being a good place for children, adults, animals, and nature.
