A project where the children get to decide
The adults brought their perspective and knowledge as designers. Göteborgs Stadstriennal provided a budget and support.
The project worked as a platform for conversations, giving space for laughter, seriousness, and dreams. The project was made in collaboration with a group of designers and a group of children from Fritidsgården Minimix in Hammarkullen.
One of the child participants, Shahed, built a cardboard kiosk during a prototyping workshop. Her idea was to have a mobile kiosk based selling everything for only 5kr.
We met regularly for design workshops with children at the MiniMix afterschool centre.
We started by explaining our brief ‘Activate the city with children’ and then facilitated discussions, prototyping, games and brainstorming sessions to build our concept.
The project’s process was exhibited at Röhsska Museum as part of the Gothenburg City Triennial 2021 Exhibition.
Our co-designed disco bicycle made to serve hot chocolate to passersby.
